This year marks the 11th year since Japanese rock band GRANRODEO first debuted in the music scene. Comprising prolific seiyuu-singer Taniyama Kishou (“KISHOW“) and guitarist Masaaki Iizuka (“e-ZUKA“), the duo has seen much since their formation, having released a total of six studio albums and 23 singles thus far. Many of GRANRODEO‘s newer releases have seen a surge in ranking within the Oricon charts, with their latest album “Karma to Labyrinth” placing 3rd place and the most recent single “Memories” taking 6th place. Lead vocalist KISHOW himself has been rated as the seiyuu with the best singing ability in polls.
Fans of GRANRODEO thus have even more to look forward to as their favourite duo revealed in an announcement on their official website that a 24th single is in the works! The title of this single is “TRASH CANDY“, and it will be released on the 13th of April, 2016. The titular song is also the opening theme song for the anime series “Bungou Stray Dogs“, where KISHOW will be voicing the character Nakahara Chuuya. The limited edition CD, which also includes a DVD release, will cost 1,800 yen, whereas the CD-only version and anime edition will both cost 1,300 yen each.
Aside from KISHOW himself, the anime “Bungou Stray Dogs” will also include other prominent seiyuus known for their vocal ability too, such as Mamoru Miyano, Kensho Ono and Yoshimasa Hosoya, so do check it out!
Listeners of J-rock who may be interested in some of GRANRODEO‘s most iconic songs can consider checking out the band’s “Best Of” album, and if you happen to be in Japan this year in July, August or September, the duo will also be having their “GRANRODEO LIVE TOUR 2016”. 2016 is certainly set to be an exciting year for GRANRODEO‘s fans.
