From the author, ONE, who drew the hit original webcomic series “One-Punch Man“, comes “MOBPSYCHO 100” – an ongoing comic series published by Shougakukan‘s Ura-Sunday comics. The preview trailer for the series’ anime adaptation which is slated for a 2016 release has just been released to the public!
As seen from the preview clips in the trailer, the adaptation will retain ONE‘s unique art style – which will be directed into animation by studio BONES, recognised for their high-energy action sequences. Directing the production will be Tachikawa Yuzuru (Death Parade, Zankyou no Terror, Shingeki no Kyojin), while the series organizer will be Seko Kouji (Shingeki No Kyojin, Ajin, Zankyou no Terror).
Character designs for the adaptation are assigned to Kameda Yoshimichi who is known for his work on the animation for “One-Punch Man” and “Fullmetal Alchemist“.
The audio direction will be led by Wakabayashi Kazuhiro (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Soul Eater) and the music will be composed by Kawai Kenji (Ghost in the Shell, Hana Moyu).
Only two members of the voice cast have been revealed. The main character Kageyama Shigeo (aka Mob) is to be voiced by Itou Setsuo, and his master Reigen Arataka is to be voiced by Sakurai Takahiro (seiyuu for Makishima Shougo in PSYCHO-PASS).
The creator of the series, ONE, also gave his comments on the adaptation – which were published on the adaptation’s official website:
“I was quite surprised and I still haven’t recovered from the shock, but it still feels really unexpected. I can’t imagine what anime this will turn out to be, but I look forward to seeing it. I can’t wait for it to be done. It feels like its going to be even better from here, so please do keep a lookout!”
Currently, all volumes of “MOBPSYCHO 100” are on sale in Japan’s bookstores, including the newly released volume 11. The latest chapters of the manga can also be read for free on Ura-Sunday‘s website.
