Clinching the first place we have “Boku Dake ga Inai Machi” an ongoing original mystery-genre manga series which was serialized July 2012. Considering the plans to have a live-action movie adaptation of the series, on 19th March this year (in Japan) – the overwhelming popularity among all audiences alike could perhaps be expected.

Following in second place, we have the final installment of the immensely popular light novel series “Durarara!!x2 Ketsu” which carries on from the previous two seasons. The massive following formed from those who were watching since the earlier seasons is testament to how the adaptations maintained is popularity throughout 2015.

And in third place, is the anime adaptation of a manga series with a unique setting, “Dagashikashi”. Its story tells the tale of a lad who is reluctant on continuing his family business of running a candy store – and the candy-manic daughter of a candy company who desperately attempts to get him to do so. Boasting refreshing content and hilarity, it also brings to those who grew up with these candies a hint of nostalgia.
