No, you did not read that wrongly. Japanese pop culture and fashion icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is set to have her own ride as part of Universal Studios Japan’s Universal Cool Japan attractions. The Kawaii Icon is set to join other iconic (fictional) Japanese pop culture figures in the new lineup!
For a limited time only, Universal Studios Japan, located in Osaka, will be decked out in colossal figures of Titans from Attack on Titan, a 4D Neon Genesis Evangelion show, some Monster Hunter The Real and even a Biohazard/Resident Evil real escape game.
As for details of the Kyary Pamyu Pamyu ride, it is slated to be a state-of-the-art attraction that is set to take riders through her mysterious world of her music and fashion. (Dancing onions and brilliantly designed lolita fashion, anyone?) Guests will be overcome by the force of gravity as well at high speeds, implying that it might be a roller coaster ride!
Universal Cool Japan will commence from 15 January 2016 to 26 June 2016! Meanwhile, this author might be booking another trip to Japan in that period just to try out the ride and to see how the acclaimed Harajuku style might work in a ride!
