KIRIMI-Chan, Sanrio’s Salmon-Headed Character Gets a Mahou Shoujo Transformation Sequence!

KIRIMI-chan is perhaps one of Sanrio’s quirkiest mascots. While it is not as iconic as say, Sanrio’s usual star, Hello Kitty, it still is unique in its own way in that it is literally an animated salmon fillet. Just recently, KIRIMI-Chan was used as the poster girl for salted salmon-flavoured candy. What surprises can we expect from this salmon fillet now?

A special promotion will kick off starting this fall and this time round, KIRIMI-Chan now has an anthropomorphic version of herself. Not only that, she now has a mahou shoujo (magical girl) transformation sequence!

Yonaga Tsubasa will be lending his voice to KIRIMI-Chan. Her other food friends, which includes other meat fillets from saba to beef, will be given anthropomorphic versions as well!

These characters are set to appear in merchandise such as character goods and even a potential smartphone application! Do look out for more news on this interesting project!
