Late yesterday (25/8), the official website for the newest season of the legendary ‘Lupin the Third‘ series drew their curtains, revealing the much anticipated first preview trailer of the newest season for the series’ anime of the same name.
Known to be the fifth anime adaptation of Monkey Punch‘s work since 30 years ago, the current adaptation of the much loved series brings back to the screen the vivid colours that pleasantly brings back memories of the bountiful palette that had awed many fans in the past.
Not to mention, the current rendition of the main theme of ‘Lupin the Third‘ in the preview trailer is bound to strike any fan of the series with a fit of nostalgia – the signature brass motif (composed by the same Ohno Yuuji who composed for the series’ movies and earlier anime) of the Lupin theme now orchestrated in symphony with the cool, profound tones of the vibraphone.
A newcomer to the ‘Lupin the Third‘ might, be intrigued by the wide variety of quirky characters showcased in the trailer – should they not already be impressed by the thoughtful composition of the designs reminiscent of 70s anime and modern animation techniques.
‘Lupin the Third‘ is scheduled to air in starting 1st October this year, during the Autumn anime season, every Thursday – and will have a total of 24 episodes.
