The manga series DD Hokuto no Ken (DD Fist of the North Star) will be adapted into an anime series on TV come October this year, under the title of “DD Hokuto no Ken 2 Ichigo Aji+” (DD Fist of the North Star 2 Strawberry Flavour Plus).
Specifically, the series will premiere on TV Tokyo on the 6th of October, and will be aired at 1.35am every Tuesday. A preview of the vocal cast has been revealed, and corresponds with the cast for the 2013 anime adaptation with the following voice actors voicing these characters:
Shinnosuke Tachibana as Kenshirou
Tomokazu Seki as Toki
Kazuya Ichijou as Raoh
Shūta Morishima as Bat
M.A.O as Lin
Akira Kamiya as Ryūken
Yui Horie as Yuria
Ryotaro Okiayu as Shin
The manga series, written and illustrated by Kajio, is itself an adaptation in super deformed style of the manga series Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. The protagonist Kenshiro is a warrior equipped with a powerful martial art form called Hokuto Shinken, in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by a nuclear war. DD Hokuto no Ken, on the other hand, considers what could have happened instead if the nuclear war hypothesised in the original series did not occur, and adds a humorous twist on the events of the series!
