Theme Song Produced by Tsunku♂ for Movie ‘Raintree no Kuni’ to be Sung by Lead Actor Tamamori Yuuta of Kis-My-Ft2

On 13th August, it was announced that Tamamori Yuuta of the popular music group ‘Kis-My-Ft2’, lead actor of the upcoming movie ‘Raintree no Kuni’ will be singing the movie’s theme song entitled ‘Saigo mo Yappari Kimi’ (最後もやっぱり君) produced by music producer Tsunku who confidently expressed that “the members of Kis-My-Ft2, with their abundant passion, innocence, amorousness, have completed this heartwarming song”.

Raintree no Kuni’ (レインツリーの国; translated as The Raintree Country), written in 2006 by Arikawa Hiro, author of the popular series ‘Hankyuu Densha’ and ‘Library Wars’, after selling over 800 thousand copies was announced in 2014 to be adapted as a movie.

Raintree no Kuni’ tells the story of Nobu (Tamamori Yuuta) who searches the internet about the light novel he once liked and stumbles upon a blog named ‘Raintree no Kuni’. Nobu makes contact through e-mail with the blog’s administrator, Hitomi (Nishiuchi Mariya) and becomes attracted to her. However, Hitomi has a secret which she is unable to speak to anyone about…

Tsunku who worked with Kis-My-Ft2 in music production for the first time expresses:

“Considering how Kis-My-Ft2 sings, I made the idea of the boys’ thoughts of pure love into song. While writing the song, I put into thought the bonds of love between family, friends, and our fellow humans, but the members of Kis-My-Ft2, with their abundant passion, innocence, amorousness, have completed this heartwarming song so well, that I am very pleased. The song is the most powerful among the other love songs I have written so far, yet it overflows with such gracefulness, so it really is quite surprising.”

Saigo mo Yappari Kimi’ (releases 11th November), together with the theme song (releases 10th October) of the serial drama ‘Seishun Tantei Haruya’ (Youth Detective Haruya, temporary name) airing October, which also stars Tamamori, makes it two consecutive single releases in two months for Kis-My-Ft2. Kitayama Hiromitsu of Kis-My-Ft2 comments:

“When I first heard the song, it felt like my tears were about to flow out. The way the song is overly straightforward resounds with the heart and embraces one in tender warmth. I hope to share with everyone this feeling, with the song that the seven of Kis-My-Ft2 and Tsunku has made.”

Lead actor of both the drama and movie, Tamamori gladly reflects that “I was really attached to both [the drama and movie] and really look forward to their completion, but being able to work on the music for both productions really made me happy”, and emphasizes, “I hope the two songs become tunes that will both make a deep impression on the works they are associated with”.
