Phantasy Star Online 2 to get an anime adaptation

Although not the first game-based anime to ever air, it is impressive to see an MMORPG-based game getting an anime adaptation. Sega has released a website, making the announcement to the public that this anime has begun production to commemorate PSO franchise’s 15th year anniversary as the eighth ever project.

The announcement was made in Okinawa on July 12, 2015 at an offline event. The story would be completely original, set in the future earth visualised by the imaginations of the game’s players.

Sega released the free-to-play Phantasy Star Online 2 role-playing game for Windows PC in Japan in 2012, followed by a PlayStation Vita release in 2013, and an Android and iOS release in April and May 2014, respectively
