The AD-LIVE Project 2015 will be returning again this year with multi-talented seiyuu-singer Suzumura Kenichi starring together with two other artistes each day across the span of the event. As the producer, Suzumura Kenichi has recently announced over live-streaming on Nico-Nico Douga who will be appearing as guest performers for the event.
So who exactly will we get to see?
With a wealth of experience both as a theatre actor, film producer and voice actor, his notable roles include Seto Kaiba from the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, Inui from The Prince of Tennis series, and much more recently, Seijuurou Mikoshiba from the Free! series. Of note, Kenjiro Tsuda was invited to perform during AFA 2014 last year, and he will be performing on the 12th of September in Tokyo, together with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi (who incidentally voices his on-screen younger brother in Free!) and Takahiro Sakurai.
His notable roles include Suzaku Kururugi from Code Geass, Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII and Izuru Kira from Bleach, amongst others. Of interest, Takahiro Sakurai has a close personal friendship and working partnership with AD-LIVE 2015 producer Suzumura Kenichi himself: he and Suzumura were involved in the now-defunct unit R-16 and star on the radio show Cherry Bell. He will be performing on the 12th of September (coincidentally Suzumura’s birthday!) in Tokyo, together with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi (whose management agency INTENTION he is a part of) and Kenjiro Tsuda.
Nicknamed the “Queen of Tsundere” for her frequent roles in voicing tsundere lead characters, she has also voiced other non-tsundere characters such as Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, Happy in Fairy Tail, Kagura in Gintama, and Mametchi from the Tamagotchi series. Kugimiya Rie won the Best Actress award for a number of her roles during the Seiyu Awards ceremonies, and she will be performing on the 13th of September in Tokyo, together with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi and Kensho Ono.
The voice behind the Japanese dub of Harry Potter, he has also voiced the lead character Tetsuya Kuroko from the Kuroko’s Basketball series and Alain from Pokemon XY: Mega Evolution, amongst other roles. Kensho Ono is definitely a name to watch out for, having played stage roles in musicals such as Elisabeth and The Lion King, as well as releasing music albums since last year and clinching the 2014 Best New Artist category award for the JpopAsia Music Awards. He will be performing on the 13th of September in Tokyo, together with fellow voice-actors Rie Kugimiya and Suzumura Kenichi (who performed right after his segment at the Singapore stop of Lantis Festival this year).
A freelance singer and voice actress, her notable roles include Nunnally Lamperouge from Code Geass, Maria Ross from Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ange Serena from the Tales Of series. She will be performing on the 10th of October in Saitama, with fellow voice-actors Yuki Kaji and Suzumura Kenichi.
Amongst other roles, he voiced Gus Grav from Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Alibaba Saluja from Magi: The Kingdom of Magic, Lyon Vastia from Fairy Tail and Toyotomi Hideyoshi from Nobunaga the Fool. Yuki Kaji has notably won the Best Voice Actor award for two consecutive years in 2013 and 2014, and will be performing on the 10th of October in Saitama, with fellow voice-actors Kaori Nazuka and Suzumura Kenichi.
Better known as simply KISHOW, he is the leading vocalist and lyricist for his rock band GRANRODEO, whose songs are critically and commercially well-received and frequently used in anime soundtracks. As a voice actor, he has also voiced Kazeshini from Bleach, Oasis from the Duel Masters series, Natsuki Shinomiya from the Uta no Prince-sama series and Tatsuya Himuro from Kuroko’s Basketball (the latter two of which both prominently feature both Suzumura Kenichi and KISHOW). Kishou Taniyama was ranked 1st amongst popular male seiyuu-singers in a public poll, and he will be performing on the 11th of October in Saitama, with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi and Nobuhiko Okamoto.
With a fairly prominent voice acting and singing career, he has won several Seiyu Awards previously for some of his portrayals and has released three mini-albums so far. His notable roles include Teru Saotome from the Beyblade series, Narunosuke from Bleach, Rei Ogami from Code:Breaker, Hikaru Asahina from Brothers Conflict and Accelerator from A Certain Magical Index. Fans in Thailand had the opportunity to see him perform during AFA 2015 in Bangkok, and he will be performing again on the 11th of October in Saitama, with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi and Taniyama Kishou.
A veteran seiyuu, Mitsuo Iwata is recognized as “one of the greatest seiyuus“. He voiced the Japanese dub for Peter Pan and has been praised for his roles as Kintaro Oe in Golden Boy and Itsuki Takeuchi in Initial D. Amongst other things, fans may remember him for lending his voice to various video game roles such as Orbot from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sean from Street Fighter III and Yeager from the Tales Of series. He will be performing on the 17th of October in Osaka with fellow CONNECT unit member Suzumura Kenichi as well as fellow voice-actor Daisuke Namikawa.
With a track record in voice acting, film directing and singing, Daisuke Namikawa is definitely one to look out for. He voiced many notable roles recognizeable to fans such as Mystogan from Fairy Tail, Ulquiorra Cifer from Bleach, Eustass Kid from One Piece and Fai from the Tsubasa Chronicle series. He has also directed his first live-action film Wonderful World in 2010 and released his latest album Elements last December. He will be performing on the 17th of October in Osaka with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi and Mitsuo Iwata.
Many will definitely recognize Jun Fukuyama for his lead role as Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass which won him the Best Male Seiyuu Award in 2007. In addition to that, he has also voiced Kimihiro from the Tsubasa series, Searchman from the MegaMan/Rockman series, and more recently Makoto Hanamiya from Kuroko’s Basketball and Kyle Dunamis from the Tales Of series. He has released a few albums in the past years, and will be performing on the 18th of October in Osaka with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi and Hiro Shimono.
He has voiced characters such as Shifu from D.Gray-Man, Hiro (incidentally of the same name) from Soul Eater, Sho from Fairy Tail, Syo Kurusu from the Uta no Prince-sama series, Yusuke Tanimura from Kuroko’s Basketball, and Emil Castagnier from the Tales Of series. Shimono Hiro will be performing on the 18th of October in Osaka with fellow voice-actors Suzumura Kenichi and Fukuyama Jun.
Having recently just held a successful Manten Live concert in Japan and performed earlier this year for every stop of Lantis Festival 2015 except for two, this is definitely not the first nor the last time the prolific seiyuu and singer will be the producer for AD-LIVE. Suzumura Kenichi has recently released his latest single Tsuki to Taiyou no Uta exactly one month ago, and in addition to his successful and well-recognized music career, he has voiced notable characters including Lavi from D.Gray-man, Toki from Code:Breaker, Atsushi from Kuroko’s Basketball, Masato from the Uta no Prince-sama series and Momotaro Mikoshiba from the Free! series. He will be performing together with his equally impressive lineup for each of the six days of AD-LIVE 2015.
