Round of 16 First Leg: Suwon Samsung FC 2-3 Kashiwa Reysol
Kashiwa Reysol got into a very rough start after conceding the first goal in the first minute of the match scored by Yeom Ki Hun. However, that did not stop their resilience and desire. They came back with the equalizer from Barada Akimi in the 12th minute, followed by a double from Leandro on the 29th and the 56th minute. Chong Tese reduced Kashiwa’s lead to only one goal, after scoring in the 59th minute.
Despite the victory and away-goal advantage, there is still a lot to be done, claimed by Kashiwa’s coach, Tatsuma Yoshida. “We still have a second leg to play, we are not thinking that this tie has already been won. This is only half time for the players and there is still a lot of work to do” said Yoshida.
The second leg will be played at the Hitachi Kashiwa Stadium in Kashiwa on 26th May.
