Muse’s Kusuda Aina to Debut as a Solo Singer

Seiyuu-singer Aina Kusuda, best known for voicing the Muse idol member Nozomi Toujou from the idol anime Love Live!, announced that she will be starting a solo career with record label VAP during her live event, Kusukusukussun Sankussun Matsuri in Tokyo on 9th May. Kusuda will make her debut in Autumn with the song Todoke Mirai (届け未来).

During the event, the 27-year old, affectionately known as Kussun by her fans, performed a set-list of well-known anisong and J-Pop covers.

This solo-branch-out is perhaps fitting, considering how the Love Live Franchise may soon be shifting its limelight to a newer cast and story in the all-elusive Love Live Sunshine. The cast and character profiles of this new season were announced near the end of April.

Currently, many other Muse members either have solo careers or are part of collective acts elsewhere. The year 2014 saw the solo debuts of Emi Nitta and PILE (Eriko Hori‘s stage name). Yoshino Nanjo was also well-known for being part of the Anisong trance duo fripside, the other member being the composer Satoshi Yaginuma.

Kusuda has also recently attracted decent reception from her Taiwanese fanbase, enough to promise them a solo live and meet-and-greet session in their home country’s HANA Stage (Hana 展演空間) on 16th May.
