The school idol anime sensation that took the otaku world by storm, Love Live! will be spreading its wings overseas once more as their first theatrical movie is set for overseas release all across Asia and far-off continents!
The movie, titled Love Live! The School Idol Movie will be released in Japanese theatres from 13 June. It chronologically takes place after the second season of the anime after the graduation of the girls in the third year.
On Lantis’ Official Facebook Page, fans overseas would no longer have to fret over waiting for the official Blu-ray/DVD release as the movie will be distributed internationally as well! Love Live! The School Idol Movie will hit regional shores such as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea in August. In September, the English-speaking countries of New Zealand, Australia and the United States of American will have their fair share of the Love Live! fever. From October onwards, the movie will be screened in selected Southeast Asian countries as well.
Clear files and limited picture tickets offered during the limited advance sales period
While the dates have yet to be confirmed, Lantis has finalised the distributors for the overseas screenings of the movie. Details can be found on the official English site of the franchise. The Japanese screening of the movie was announced with much fanfare, offering fans a chance to obtain exclusive clear files with advance sales of the movie tickets. It is unknown if the overseas fans will receive such opportunities as well.
With overseas live viewings of their second concert at Saitama Super Arena, live appearances at Lantis Festival in Seoul, Shanghai and Taipei and now the global screening of their movie beyond Asian shores, it is evident that the Love Live! fever won’t subside anytime soon!
